The Business Contract Manager will develop and formalise the contract management activities (as part of the Procurement Services Contract Management Programme) to be carried out by a Business to adhere to the Group Contract Management Policy. This role will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of the Centre of Excellence scope of services within a Business. 
Procurement Services Centre of Excellence Contract Management activity will include oversight and direction of the Contract Management activities within the Businesses across the Group.

The following activities will be carried out in support of this:

• Work with the Business to initially develop comprehensive contract management activities and oversight, evolving to supporting ongoing contract improvement programmes including innovation, cost savings and service improvement programmes
• Develop and maintain robust Business partner stakeholder relationships to ensure Business Partner Support
• Evaluate and prioritise contract management activity with Business partners to ensure proper resource allocation
• Manage the quarterly delivery of key metrics that evidence and effective contract management programme for both the Business and other internal and external stakeholders
• Work with the business to analyse and review contract performance to ensure best practice supply chain management
• Collaborate with the Business Contract Management team to develop, improve and ensure we have a World Class Contract management programme
• Development of Contract Management training content built upon the value and principles of strategic Contract Management 

Skills

• Development of a deep and robust relationship with Risk Managers in Business Services
• Understanding of internal and external market conditions and risks associated with contracts in scope.
• Work with senior leaders in Procurement Services to deliver the contract management program in a complementary fashion to existing Procurement Services programs. 

Deliverables: 

• Deliver and manage a contract management improvement programme for a Business ensuring an improvement in service excellence, customer experience and cost efficiencies, underpinned by appropriate measurement systems and within an acceptable risk management regime.
• Assure effective contract risk management in business line(s) evidenced by metrics.
• Oversight of the delivery of contract risk profiles, including delivery of audit and risk actions, for the contract ensuring all activity, including statutory exercises are robustly completed within the prescribed governance structure.
• Fully contribute to the development and implementation of service and supplier strategies within the contracted service which articulate the future directions over a 3 to 5 year timeframe, maximising cross service, sector and geographic synergies. These must influence and align to the strategies.
• Create a culture of collaborative supply chain management and utilise continuous improvement techniques to deliver best in class service propositions.
• Ensure that appropriate and timely resources are identified, scheduled and deployed for the delivery of the required programs to meet deadlines and milestones, effectively co-ordinating diverse disciplines, plus internal and external teams.
• Utilise appropriate project management processes and skills to provide a collaborative approach to delivery, liaising with programme sponsors, effectively formulating plans and producing relevant reports and outputs at specific stages within the project lifecycle to evidence performance and successful completion.
• Work with Business contract management leads to analyse and review supplier performance and project workloads in order to identify improvement opportunities and appropriate solutions.
• Secure approval for project and service spend and ensure ongoing governance compliance and validation of all costs in a timely manner. 

Behavioural characteristics:

• Experience of managing critical contracts and/or supplier relationships, delivering improvement programs and working with collaborative supplier arrangements
• Change Management or related Project Management experience
• Ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders
• Proven ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workloads and work on own initiative
• Demonstrable leadership skills, experience, and/or education
