Solution Manager / Program Manager
Purpose of the role / responsibilities: (how it adds value)
• Manage multiple [up to 5] medium to large projects or programs simultaneously [£
200k-2000k]
• Deliver projects/programs in time and in budget against the agreed and baselined scope
• The role entails two main focus areas: (1) projects delivering changes to IT services
within the ICM online channels portfolio. (2) programs delivering change in a coordinated
fashion across the entire transaction banking service portfolio.
Key role deliverables: (criteria/results by which success can be measured)
• Deliver results against agreed milestones
• Control the project and manage deviations tightly and professionally
• Agree with all stakeholders on a new baseline if and when milestones become
unrealistic
• Manage project finances professionally and tightly. Experience in Earned Value
Management required.
• Report and manage project KPIs as required by portfolio/program manager
• Manage, mentor and support off-shore [Chennai-India] project manager(s) who are
assisting in all project monitoring/control activities. These off-shore project managers
focus on deliverables within the ICM Online Channels portfolio
• Understands to simplify complex dependencies and influences stakeholders to come to
realistic and achievable milestones
Relevant Knowledge:
• Relevant Certificate PMI / PRINCE / IPMA proving minimum knowledge level
• Detailed knowledge of the software development life cycle. Preferably IBM-RUP
certified
• Program management experience
• Having managed project budgets above 2 million Euros
• Excellent analytical capabilities
• Technical or scientific background with desire to understand complex IT
infrastructures
Skills
Business knowledge
• Minimum 5 years experience in an international blue chip environment
• Minimum of 5 years experience in the financial industry
• Proven record of experience in all project management knowledge areas: Integration,
Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resource, Communications, Risk and Procurement
Management.
• Shows extensive experience in Requirements Management
• Has a track record in excellent project risk management. Knows how to provide
visibility to relevant project uncertainties and gets stakeholder buy-in for proper risk
management.
• Used to organizations undergoing substantial change and showing resilience against
confusion/unclarity change might cause

Additional Comments:
• The solution manager will be working within the International Cash Management (ICM)
team to ensure the changes and requirements requested by international clients are met.
Implementation of changes are a great part of the role.
• It is therefore essential that the candidate has a strong technical background. It
would be a great advantage if he/she has experience within international cash management
with the ability to understand and implement technical requirements. Experience with
online channels is also an advantage.
